Pachamama Ceremony
Let’s gather on ‘El día de la Pachamama’ and celebrate Mother Earth together
Laura has returned to Boonwurrung country after a decade living in the mountains of Perú. Join this meditative ceremony called a haywarikuy (local language Quechua) otherwise known as a despacho (Spanish), taught to her by Q'ero maestros. The Q'eros are the wisdom keepers of the Peruvian Andean mountains. Laura has been walking the path of Tahuatinsuyo (the Four Directions) with them for many years and is a mesa carrier.
A haywarikuy is an offering of sacred reciprocity (ayni) or a payment to the earth (pago a la tierra) that is co-created with every person who attends. This offering will be made with the intention to connect with the ñusta energy, which translates as either priestess or princess. Together we will build a rainbow bridge from our hearts up to the Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters star system (kanchis koto kuna).
Laura will gather over fifty natural elements and ingredients, each one representing vital things that we will call in -- such as good health, safe travel, clear communication, family connection and much more. Some elements will be explained, but there will also be time to meditate on your own intention. El día de la Pachamama is the perfect day to be in meditation or prayer to honour this world on which we walk, with all its beauty and its imperfections.
The session will begin promptly as Laura opens the space in the Tahuatinsuyo tradition. Everyone will be invited to call in their ancestors, guardians and sacred spots in nature either silently or with voice. Then the haywarikuy will take place where each person will make offerings for the co-creation. We will finish with a celebration of music as time allows. It would be lovely to have you there to honour this special day.
Haylli!
What to bring:
· All you need to do is collect five leaves, petals or natural materials to take part. Keep them small so they can fit in your palm. Laura will bring extras for those that might forget on the day.
· Though Waves Farm does provide bolsters, also feel free to bring your favourite pillow, blanket or mat. If someone needs a chair, please let us know in advance.
· Perhaps bring a scarf or something just in case you get chilly, but the space will be snug.
· If you would like to bring along an instrument, you are most welcome.
